The Toronto office engages in significant research that is used to advance the quality of design in Architecture and bring to the work of the International offices the best practices of North American architecture. Terri Meyer Boake travels to the International offices and also provides continuing education lectures. She has lectured at Tsinghua University and to the Beijing Real Estate Organization on the benefits of designing to LEED standards.

ARCHITECTURALLY EXPOSED STRUCTURAL STEEL:

Terri Meyer Boake has been working with the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction since 2005 on the development of a new set of specifications and guidelines for use in improving the communication between Architect, Engineer and Fabricator in achieving high quality AESS. She has recently completed the "CISC Guide for Specifying Architecturally Exposed Structural Steel". UNDERSTANDING STEEL DESIGN:

Steel design has been part of the practice at ACBI from the time of its use in the Metro Toronto Convention Center in the early 1980s. This new book "Understanding Steel Design: An Architectural Design Manual", written by Terri Meyer Boake, assists architects in high quality design with steel.
